Cliff Lakes Trailhead is located off Forest Road 601. Four-wheel drive vehicles are highly recommended.
From Rifle, head east on I-70 for 15 miles. At the New Castle exit (105), turn left at the ramp and follow the signs into New Castle. At 7th Street (County Road 245) turn right and stay on it for approximately 28 miles. Turn right at Hiner Spring on Forest District Road 601. Follow 601 about 2 miles to the Cliff Lake Trailhead on your left.
