About 15 miles north of town, you’ll come across the Rifle Gap State Park. Camping, fishing and boating on the reservoir are popular here, as is spelunking next door at Rifle Falls State Park’s limestone caves formed by a trio of 50-foot waterfalls. Continue up the road to Rifle Mountain Park to experience the best rock climbing in Colorado or enjoy miles of hiking trails.

If you are fortunate enough to visit Rifle Mountain Park in winter, don’t miss the Rifle Ice Caves. A short hike will bring you to these naturally occurring ice flows which have a beauty and magic all their own.

If your idea of adventure is a leisurely round of golf in some of the most breathtaking natural views followed by shopping and a show we have you covered. Rifle Creek Golf Course offers stunning views of surrounding mountains and unique experiences that are great for all players. It is a true Colorado mountain adventure on a breathtaking golf course!

Do you find real adventure in history? The Rifle Heritage Center, in the town’s former city hall, exhibits area history with themed rooms that showcase everything from American Indian artifacts to an old-fashioned general store.
